"Best Press" from Mary Ellen

As I was spraying my clothes this morning with the "Best Press", I wondered what other uses people have found for this product.

When we were in Paducah, I had packed some shirts, fresh out of the laundry basket. These shirts had been in the bottom for several days. I assumed there would be an iron at the hotel, so I packed my "Best Press" and off we went. Since we were staying at a cabin on the lake, no iron. I spritzed the shirts very liberally and hung them up, hoping for the best. By morning, the wrinkles were gone and I was able to wear them to the show.

So, the point of this blog is to let you know that your "Best Press" can be used outside of your sewing room. I now buy the refills by the gallon for me to use in the laundry room.

16th Anniversary

Good Afternoon from Overbrook! We are starting our 16th anniversary celebration. From now until noon on Memorial Day, you have the opportunity to gather tickets for a drawing. For every $1 you spend in the shop, you will get one ticket in the drawing. We will begin the drawings at noon on Memorial Day. You must be present to win. Grand Prize is a "Quilt Cut 2" from Alto's, assorted other prizes include gift certificates, books, patterns and class enrollments.

So start shopping now and increase your chances of winning. We will be drawing for 16 different prizes (since it's our 16th anniversary)!

Also, you will want to check out our website for information on the quilting football league. It is a combination of shop hop and clubs with nationwide participation and prizes. It sounds like lots of fun. You will also have access to free patterns and recipes, too.

Shop Hop time

Countdown to the shop hop starts today. We'll be going shopping for the food we'll serve for lunches. Gotta buy cookies too. Tomorrow we'll rehang some of the best sellers, especially Vicky's "Garden Nouveau". Hope you see you all at the hop.

Then we have a 7-day turn around and we head for Paducah. Vicky will be having a book signing on Tuesday night at the convention center. Course, I'm sure she'll sign books in our booth also. We've got some new stuff to demo, both at the shop hop and in Paducah, so be sure and take time to watch the demos.

First Saturday/Sale on Sunday

Just a reminder that Saturday is the first Saturday of the month. Time to bring in your finished January block to receive your February block free. Helen's demo is from 8:30-10. It's her birthday, so everyone wish her a happy birthday!

Sunday we will be open from 1-5. Draw for your discount when you come in the door, then choose the category to take it in. Choose from books, patterns, notions or fabric. Clearance fabric and Christmas fabric, 40% off, 50% if you clean off the bolt.
